If you watched the getting started video at bizmodelguru.com/do-this-first and you’ve decided that you want to make money by being a product marketer then there are some key things that you need to know to get started with this business model.
First off, when you’re doing research to create your first product make sure you find a niche that has BUYERS. A great way to do this is to go to Google.com and do a search for your niche. If there are people paying to advertise, that’s a good indication that people are buying in that niche. If advertisers are spending money then they have to be getting money.
Once you’ve found that niche of buyers, then it’s time to do product research. Places like ClickBank.com and PayDotCom.com are great places to research digital products. Find what’s selling and get ideas from those products. Just don’t steal!
When you’ve decided what product to create, you’ve got to ensure you’re giving a quality product. Ask yourself if your product would be something you would be happy with purchasing. Be really honest with yourself here.
Not only does your product need to be top notch, but so does the presentation of the product.
If it’s an ebook make sure it’s formatted nicely, and has very few if any spelling and grammatical errors.
If it’s videos, make sure that they are of good visual and audio quality. If it’s downloadable make sure it’s easy to do so. If you are having people stream the videos from your site, make sure you put them in nice little players. Eye candy is always a good thing.
The above also goes for audio products too…
If it’s a software product, make sure it’s got a nice clean interface, and throw some eye candy into it. People like gidgets and gadgets so any little bells and whistles to make the presentation of the software should be added.
Just take a look at other products in your niche, and make yours look 100% better.
